Knit Eyebrows | 眉間のしわ

English follows Japanese!

No I shouldn’t knit my eyebrows….. well, it’s too late to care about it after I established this performance habit a long long time ago. I give up.

Why so serious….!?

It’s been 20+ years since I started playing the violin, but it’s also been 15+ years since I started this habit. Once I saw the picture of me playing on stage when I was 6 – it was surprising. I already had that habit.

When I’m really into the music I play, my eyebrows somehow want to stay closer, which is not a bad habit at all – it expresses how I’m enjoying the world of the music and the composer. However, it’s sometimes discouraging to see myself performing on the video recording. “Why did I make such a serious face? Oh no, look at that eyebrows…”

But some kind people say they enjoy watching me play like that. They say that’s the great thing about live performance.

Whether good or bad, I will probably keep knitting the eyebrows during the performances for the rest of my life. I can’t help doing it, but I just need to be careful not to keep that wrinkles between my eyebrows in my daily lives.
