Summer in JAPAN

英語集中セミナーSummer in JAPAN 2017、5年目となる2017年は大分と岡山での2都市開催、無事終了しました。ハーバード生と学ぶ夏、小中高生の皆様のご応募を2018年もお待ちしております。詳しくはこちらから!

In 2013, Sumire co-founded a non-profit organization called Summer in JAPAN in her hometown, Oita, Japan. During its two-week educational summer program, around ten Harvard students teach workshops including Computer Science, Performing Arts, Public Speaking, and Academic Writing to Japanese students aged from 6 to 20, and give presentations and a classical concert. The program aims to inspire Japanese students who will encounter the world where it is crucial to have wider global perspectives than ever, with our strong belief that “designing education is inventing our future.” Please visit our website and our Facebook Page to learn more about the program.

GUIDE Africa

I have been helping GUIDE Africa, a project aimed to conduct in-depth research of Ebola virus in Sierra Leone and vaccines in Ghana with professors (Dr. Yoshihiro Kawaoka and Dr. Hiroshi Kiyono) and staff at Institute of Medical Science at University of Tokyo, interviewing professors and researchers. See the website from HERE.

Eight-string Guitar & Violin Duo

I have been collaborating with Joseph Ehrenpreis, a 8-string guitar (a.k.a. Brahms guitar) player for a classical duo. We have performed at Round K Cafe and Silvana Harlem as our kickoff, and aiming to perform more in the coming year, both in NYC and Chicago. Let us know if your cafe/bar/venue would like to host our shows!
