こんにちは。廣津留すみれです。

２０１８年も早いもので大晦日がやってまいりました！みなさんどんな過ごし方をするんでしょうか。私は昨夜帰ってきた大分の実家から書いております。どたばたの１年、やっと一息つけたなあ。。というところですが、ブログだけは書いて一年をしめくくりたい！

というわけで２０１８総まとめ、ささっと今年のできごとをまとめておきたいなと！思います！今年は時系列で！（リンクをちょこちょこ忍ばせています。）

１月
・ ジュリアード最終学期スタート、毎日朝から晩までオーケストラと弦楽カルテットの演奏会＆リハーサル漬けの日々。

２月
・ コンサートマスターを務めたオーケストラコンサート２公演が大成功！大きな自信に😊
・ 準備に死ぬほど力を入れた卒業リサイタルが無事終了！！難曲ばかりでしたが、ハーバード時代の友達を含め応援にたくさんの人が来てくれてハッピー！

３月
・ ブルックリンのホール National Sawdustにて、録音プロジェクトを敢行。
・ ジュリアードの新指揮者David Robertsonにインタビュー。
・ New York City Balletとカルテットがコラボレーション演奏！

４月
・ カーネギーホールにて、ジュリアードオーケストラのメンバーとして感動のラストコンサート！
・　ゲームカンファレンス PAX Eastにて、ファイナルファンタジー１５の壮大なライブ！
・ １年前に始めたバロックバイオリンでオペラ”Hippolyte et Aricie”出演。どきどきの古楽初公演。
・ 卒業実技試験！！！無事に最高評価をいただく🙂

５月
・ 卒業式のステージでまさかの首席受賞！！！！！驚いて腰が抜ける。
・ 人生初の密着取材を受ける。
・ NYのラジオWQXRのライブショーに初出演。

６月
・ 日本テレビ系「人生が変わる１分間の深イイ話」に密着出演。
・ ライプツィヒのバッハ音楽祭で、ジュリアード×バッハ・コレギウム・ジャパンのコンサート出演。
・ 初ドイツ＆古楽器での初大舞台（ゲヴァントハウス！）＆素晴らしい共演者陣に圧倒される。
・ 飛行機遅延で乗り継ぎに間に合わず、国際線にめげそうになる。。
・ 気をとりなおしてテキサスへ、２週間講師としてコンサート＆ワークショップを開催。
・ テキサスでのヒスパニック人口に衝撃を受け、スペイン語をはじめる。

７月
・ 満席のMoMAニューヨーク近代美術館で、カルテットとして世界初演＆NY初演を披露。
・ ダンスカンパニーPilobolusの第一回フェスティバルに招待され、誕生日にライブ演奏！

８月　
・ 第６回Summer in JAPANを開催！史上最多の生徒数にコンサートも大好評♡
・ 後半はバーモント州にてタンゴフェスティバルに参加。本物に触れる。

９月
・ 7月に登記した会社Smilee Entertainmentが本格始動！！！
・ 新事業のいろいろにてんてこまい。
・ ジュリアードの新学長Damian Woetzelにインタビュー。
・ CAPCOM公式ライブに出演、ついにNYのファンに伝説のゲーム音楽を披露

１０月
・ ジュリアードでプロデューサーを担当している音楽×映像×テクノロジーのイベントBeyond the Machineプレ開催。
・ メイン州で演奏、空気と星の綺麗さに一瞬仕事を忘れて感動する♡

１１月
・ アルゼンチンタンゴの世界に本格参戦、NYでの演奏会に招待される。
・ 毎年恒例ボストンキャリアフォーラムにチームラボのメンバーとして出展。
・ 来年度の仕事が着々と形をなしてくる（皆さんに報告できるのが楽しみ！）
・ 上海と香港にバケーション！！！

１２月
・ 仕事の年末のまとめにてんてこまい。
・ 日本帰国しても仕事にてんてこまい。
・ 本日大晦日、大分の実家にてついに休息を手に入れる！！

振り返れば、前半は卒業式までのラストスパート、後半はビジネス始動のあれこれに奔走してまわる１年でした。色々あったなあ。大学院の卒業という大きなマイルストーンを境目に、バイオリン演奏とビジネスの両立をさらに頑張ろうという気持ちが加速しているところです。

ニューヨークでの生活にも慣れて、学生ではなく社会人という肩書きに変わった２０１８年でしたが、来年からは事業展開もますます拡大しながらがんばります！

最後に告知ですが、1/2 15:30- TBS系「イマドキ親子の事件簿」に出演します。NYでの密着映像で私のNY生活が垣間見れるかと思いますのでぜひチェックしてみてください。

Hi everyone!

Happy new year’s eve! The last day of 2018 is here and I am writing from my home in Oita, Japan surrounded with awesome Japanese food. To wrap up 2018, I would like to briefly look back my fruitful year by month!

January
・ Last semester of Juilliard, my schedule immediately got filled up with rehearsals & concerts of my string quartet and orchestra.

February
・ Orchestra concerts where I served as a concertmaster went well – and gave me some confidence in leading skills on music as I put so much effort in it.
・ My graduation recital (!!!) also went very well and I felt so much support from my Juilliard colleagues, Harvard classmates, family, friends I met in NY and longtime mentors.

March
・ Finished a solo recording project at National Sawdust
・ Interviewed Maestro David Robertson, a newly appointed conductor at Juilliard.
・ Collaborated with New York City Ballet as Ansonia Quartet, my string quartet

April
・ Last concert as a member of Juilliard Orchestra at Carnegie Hall (made me a bit emotional ❤︎)
・ Enjoyed performing at Final Fantasy XV Live Show at PAX East
・ Played baroque violin for the first time in public on an opera production “Hippolyte et Aricie” !!!
・ GRAD JURY DONE!

May
・ GRADUATED FROM JUILLIARD! With William Schuman Prize for outstanding leadership and achievements, and was so happy to show the prize to my parents who supported my path throughout my life
・Performed live at New York’s radio station WQXR for the first time!

June
・ A documentary featuring my life in NY is broadcasted nationally in Japan
・ Performed at Bach Festival at Gewanthaus in Leipzig, Germany with Juilliard’s baroque ensemble & Bach Collegium Japan!
・ My flight got delayed, missed connecting flight and I got depressed (jk but it was so tragic)
・ Taught and performed in San Antonio, TX for two weeks, got inspired to learn SPANISH!!!

July
・ Gave two world premiers & two New York premiers at MoMA in New York as Ansonia Quartet
・ Invited to perform at Pilobolous dance company’s inaugural Five Senses Festival (on my birthday ❤︎)

August　
・ Held the 6th Summer in JAPAN, an educational program in Oita！
・ Participated in Tango Festival in Stowe, VT to study with tango legends and changed my life…!

September
・ Officially established Smilee Entertainment LLC in New York, started working on different projects as the company
・ Performed CAPCOM’s official live concert finally in New York 😀

October
・ An event that I serve as a producer for, Beyond the Machine, was held at Lincoln Center
・ Went to Maine for performance – and moved by beautiful stars and nature ❤︎

November
・ Performed in my first ever tango concerts in NY!
・ Participated in Boston Career Forum as a recruiter of teamLab for the third time
・ Vacation in Shanghai & Hong Kong! (and got so full everyday)

December
・ Busy with end-of-the-year work stuff but I came back to Japan and finally got one relaxing day of the year with my family 😀

2018 for me was a big transition year from school to “real life” especially with my newly founded company. The first half was filled with different kinds of performances, and for the last half I was mainly occupied with setting up my new business and launching many different projects.

Throughout the year, I was extremely thankful for all the opportunities that I received from different fields. My mentor who pushed me to start learning baroque violin took me to a tour in Germany; my teacher connected me to a fantastic program in Texas; the featured TV program broadcasted in Japan brought me many opportunities with wonderful companies and people in Japan; those who encouraged me to start new business broadened my view on what it is to run a business; the end of student life and the start of real life made me realize how much support I am getting from my family, friends and mentors…

I’m hoping to further expand my projects in 2019 and I am excited to announce more exciting upcoming projects in the near future!

Hope you will have a happy new year’s eve and make sure to do something you wanted to do this year – there’s still a bit of time left! …Me? I will probably eat more sushi.
